During my school years, when we, members of the Volgograd City International Friendship Club named after Julius Fuchik, came to our meetings, we were greeted by a large poster :
YOU HAVE AN APPLE, AND I HAVE AN APPLE. WE EXCHANGE APPLES AND WE HAVE AN APPLE LEFT. I HAVE AN IDEA AND YOU HAVE AN IDEA. WE EXCHANGE IDEAS AND WE HAVE TWO IDEAS EACH. GEORGE BERNARD SHAW.
On May 28, 2026, in the house where George Bernard Shaw once lived, the Eurasian Creative Guild marked my activities as the Guardian of the Guild with a Jonathan Fraer Medal.
Today in the UK celebrates Teacher Appreciation Day. I thank my parents, teachers, Olga Sergeevna. My achievements happened thanks to you.
I thank Marat, Saltanat Malikovna, and everyone – everyone – everyone in the Eurasian Creative Guild for the award. It’s a great joy to be a part of such a talented community.
The Jonathan Fraer Medal is an international award given for outstanding achievements in literature and creativity as part of the events of the Guild of Eurasian Creators (ECG).
About the medal
The medal is named after Jonathan Fraer, a British writer and researcher of Eurasian literature, who is also an honorary member of the ECG creative community in London.
The award symbolises the recognition of the unique contribution of creative personalities to literature and culture, and its presentation is accompanied by solemn ceremonies at international festivals and charity balls.
Presentation and laureates
The medal is awarded as part of major cultural events, such as Eurasian Creative Week, where representatives of the diplomatic corps and cultural community from different countries, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Great Britain and others, gather.
For example, in 2024, the medal was awarded to the famous Tajik writer Gulsifat Shahidi, journalist, literary critic and academician of the International Academy of Literary Development (MARLI), for her contribution to literature and cultural heritage.
Communication with the Guild of Eurasian Creators (ECG)
The Guild of Eurasian Creators (ECG) organises meetings, festivals and competitions aimed at uniting creative personalities of different cultures and nationalities. The Jonathan Fraer Medal is part of these initiatives, emphasising the international recognition and support of talented authors.
At ECG events, participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas, be inspired by new projects and establish creative connections with colleagues from different countries.
The meaning of the medal
The medal serves as a symbol of recognition of literary and creative achievements, strengthens international cultural ties and promotes Eurasian literature on the world stage. It also emphasises the role of the Guild in supporting and developing creative initiatives, bringing together authors, researchers and cultural figures.
